There are two courses in the Core Curriculum for Living in Stillness that are available for those seeking an open body and a quiet mind:
1. Experience Stillness is the primary course for learning the Technology of Stillness®. This weekend course can be taken over and over for ever-deepening states of stress-relief and expansion. We encourage you to take this course at least twice to get the full benefits of the Technology into your body.
2. Skills of Stillness, which meets one evening per week for ten weeks, is designed to teach the new distinctions necessary for living in stillness. These distinctions include how to use attention, to notice subtlety, and to maintain connection. Prerequisite: one Experience Stillness weekend.
These courses are the fastest path to creating a deep state of relaxation in the body and quietness in the mind. Traditional pathways to expanded consciousness, or a quiet, peaceful mind, have been through processing, fixing or changing the mind.
The Technology of Stillness recognizes that a deeply relaxed body naturally produces a quiet, calm, clear mind. Our philosophy is that you don't need "fixing". You just need good techniques, a safe and loving environment, modelling, and facilitation to allow you to let go of whatever your body and mind are ready to let go of. It is amazing how easily we remember the state of openness and connection that was ours as we came into the world.
As demonstrated by the before and after pictures below, your true, undefended and powerful self will emerge. As the pictures demonstrate, the workshops also have a "youthing" quality.

The technology of the courses is profoundly simple and operates on two levels simultaneously--the invisible and the visible.
What is invisible is the low resonant frequency and tone that permeates the courses. Through their own low resonant tones (tension in the body) and frequencies (busy-ness in the mind), the training and assisting staff create an environment into which you can relax and entrain. Just as a vibrating tuning fork will cause another tuning fork to vibrate at the same frequency, you will also resonate to the quieter and more relaxed ambient frequency and tone in the room. The force of resonance is powerful. It is the force that has unconsciously contracted the world into a state of stress and fear. Through the use of conscious intention, we are able to use this force to create relaxation and quietness.
Visibly, the activity in the courses is the proper combination of:
1) intervention, through techniques designed to relax the body and quiet the mind;
2) skills practice to expand awareness and integrate change; and
3) profound rest, through CD-guided meditation. |
