I'm not a PhD in psychotherapy, psychiatry or religion. I'm not a spiritual teacher descended from a lineage of masters or gurus. Neither am I a quantum physicist who has peered deeply into the structure of time/space geometry.
Although I have practiced yoga and meditation, I am not a master of those disciplines. I gave them a try. I had some success; more than most. But I saw the enormous effort required to find the place in consciousness I was looking for.
I am a pioneer who wanted to find a better way. I am a seeker of the most efficient and effective path to Source. I define Source as that part of consciousness that is connected to all things at all times.
Like you, I have stressed out, and have always searched for a more peaceful and profound meaning of existence. I have dedicated myself to learn how to live in peace, harmony, and flow. I am committed to sharing what I have learned with others.
My background is diverse - educated as an attorney, serial entrepreneur, investment banker and venture capitalist - I always yearned for the transcendental meaning in life. I studied ancient wisdom, philosophy, religion, spirituality and quantum physics. I have developed my expertise from an unquenchable desire and continuous, intentional search.

The 5-Step Process to Stillness
Experiencing stillness can be produced by a very specific process. Applying the process consistently produces predictable results. Knowing the formula and how to apply it leads to stillness as a way of being without all the time, effort, and discipline required in yoga and meditation.
Step 1: Connect to the Body
Connecting to the body brings your awareness to the sensations of your body. Most people walk around "in their heads." They are so caught up in their thoughts they begin to identify with their thoughts. All external stimuli, especially their body, go unnoticed. External stimuli may be felt or reacted to, but are not experienced. The experience of life for most everyone is nothing more or less than the thinking of their thoughts.
Connecting to the body begins to shift your awareness from your thoughts to a more direct experience of life through your sensations. You learn to "feel" life rather than "think" life. You learn to center your consciousness in your being rather than your thoughts.
Step 2: Move Energy through the Body
Contrary to our common experience, at our most fundamental level, we are energy. The ancient mystics have made this claim for millennia. In the last century, Western science began to "verify" that claim.
The field of science which has confirmed our nature as energy is called quantum physics, or quantum mechanics. The field of study began with the likes of Albert Einstein and includes such luminaries and Nobel Laureates as Werner Heisenberg, Max Planck, Niels Bohr, Erwin Schrödinger and Wolfgang Pauli.
As energy, we are in and experience various states of flow. By far, most people experience the state form, hard and impenetrable. Their bodies are rigid from the stress and the defensive posture they have developed to survive in life.

Step 3: Open the Body
As energy begins to move in the body, it opens the boundaries of the body.
In her book The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe, Lynne McTaggart synthesizes much of the knowledge related to our connection to and participation with the "energetic field" in which the universe exists. Scientific study after scientific study demonstrates your connection to a "field of intelligence" through the energetic field.
Prior to scientific study, this phenomenon was known as intuition, physic insights, channeling or even witchcraft.
Through moving sufficient energy, the body begins to soften. You experience more of your energetic nature while still existing as form. The boundaries of your body begin to expand; you experience more and more of your energetic connection to all things.
From this connection, you have clearer access to the "field of intelligence" that is always available. You create more from inspiration rather than perspiration. You intuit rather than analyze, "know" rather than "decide," and "feel" rather than "think."

Step 4: Attend to What is Actual
Experiencing stillness includes a shift of attention. This shift can be easily made once the body is open.
The necessary shift is from virtual reality to actual reality.
Much to most people’s surprise, and possibly their denial, humanity lives in a virtual reality. Rather than a direct experience of life -- actual reality -- you live in your interpretation of the direct experience, a virtual reality.
What you think is real isn’t; it is only your interpretation of what is real.
This function of the mind is necessary for survival. In layman’s terms, it's called "memory." Without it, we would not know where we live, who our friends are, or how to do our jobs.
However, when we connect a NOW event with a memory, slip into interpretation, and react to the event from our memory, we miss the direct experience of life. We are living our memories.
Ever notice how your experience of life repeats itself over and over again? You can change the players and the circumstances but your script remains the same. Ever wondered why? The answer is simple but not easy for the ego; you live in a virtual reality.
I will show you very specific practices that make it easy for you to shift your attention from virtual into actual reality. Everything you need to learn -- all the distinctions you need to make -- you learn and make through your body. And your body learns easily, because it is already open and in flow.
In the actual world life becomes vibrant, exciting, full of possibilities, and endlessly entertaining.
Step 5: Attune to the Frequencies of Stillness
As energy is the fundamental nature of the universe and all that is in it (that’s all of us), stillness resides at a certain frequency.
I have identified 5 different levels, or frequencies, of an ever-deepening connection with stillness. They are 1) Witnessing, 2) Connecting, 3) Discovery, 4) Allowing, and 5) Expanding.
Like a tuning fork, you have learned - unconsciously - to resonate to the frequency of the masses. After all, the “tone” of the masses is overwhelming. We call that tone or level Agenda.
Think of it as “freeway frequency;” full of all the stress and pressure like driving down a freeway at rush hour. Jockeying for position, avoiding that person jockeying for position, hurrying up to wait, speeding up to get through the light. Driving with one aim in mind -- to get where you are going.

About the 1 Day
Exercises and Processes
The exercises of the 1 Day are organized around the 5 processes to stillness: 1) Connect to the Body, 2) Move Energy through the Body, 3) Open the Body, 4) Attend to What is Actual and 5) Attune to the Frequencies of Stillness. All exercises are designed to address one or more of these 5 steps.
The primary tool to release core-level stress from your body is the Vibrational Release Technique. As the Technology of Stillness® focuses on opening the body to quiet the mind, Vibrational Release is a physical activity. It combines deep breathing with external stimulation with a specially-designed vibrator and alternates breathing and holding of the breath. Through this process of stimulation and quieting, your body builds and moves enough energy, or "chi," to interrupt the holding of tension. Stresses release naturally and the body learns to let go of anxiety, defensive patterns and stored traumas.
Once your body begins to release stress through Vibrational Release, you will be guided through several discussions in which you increase your ability to observe. These discussions are not "processing." You will not be asked any questions about your "story," nor expected to examine your "inner child." Rather, you will begin to observe and distinguish in yourself, and others, when you are "expanding" (deepening your relaxation and quietness) and when you are "contracting" (increasing the stress in your body and the busy-ness in your mind).
The third component of the 1 Day is rest, which is accelerated through CD meditation. A CD with the audio exercises will be provided for your use. The series of audio exercises contain nine wave and tone technologies to produce states of deep relaxation and quietness.
